The Ruahine Yacht Squadron was formed in February 2025 with 7 members all with EC12s sailing and or under construction. Initially based on a large private irrigation lake in Central Hawkes Bay we will be now sailing on a smaller pond on the same farm because the larger lake is used for water skiing and other private activities. However we are on the hunt for alternative venues and have several to investigate. Unfortunately there are no public lakes or ponds available in Central Hawkes Bay for radio yachting.
Currently we are sailing every second Sunday and while the fleet is small we are concentrating on tuning and on the water coaching.
