Here in New Zealand, the relatively small but enthusiastic band of RC model multihullers has established the class to encourage more people to enjoy the thrills and spills of sailing and racing model multihulls It is possible to register any multihull that falls under the Mini 40 class rule. The regulations do not define a minimum size for the boats, and it is perfectly legal to race “undersize” boats, a perfect example being the new kits to convert DF95 monohulls into foiling trimarans. The association is very keen to locate all the multihull models in New Zealand (regardless of them being “class” boats) and will be happy to record them.
