Background of the LTRYC
The group has been sailing in Taupo for the past few years, initially from Kinloch and occasionally on Lake Taupo. Recently, we have secured a site at the Taupo Prawn Park at no cost, which offers two large ponds approximately two-thirds the size of a rugby field. This location has begun to attract new members who purchase DF65 yachts and become proficient.
Race Event for Taupo
All races are held every Saturday morning all year round 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and consist of 9 races with 2 drops. These events are followed by lunch or coffee and a group discussion at the Prawn Park Café venue. Our race results are posted on the Sailwave website, accessible at https://www.sailwave.com/results/TPD65NZ/
We welcome any town DF Fleet to join us at Huka Park Race day, followed by coffee and lunch after racing.

Please note that the Huka Prawn Park requires a BI security process that all skippers must follow before using the ponds to wash their DF65 yachts.
This process will be explained to any visitors prior to any yacht being raced on the ponds.
